To check the colour transfer of dyeings and prints, undyed, standardized backing fabrics in plain weave with medium basis weight are used. These backing fabrics must be free of damaged fibers, finishes, chemical residues, dyes and optical brighteners. Two different types of backing fabrics are used: Single-fiber and multi-fiber backing fabrics.
