Abrasive fabrics are used to determine the amount of dye transfer after completion of a dry or wet friction resistance test. This allows various materials to be assessed, including carpets, laminates and inks, as well as coated and lacquered surfaces.
The substance to be tested is rubbed against the fabric described here under standardised conditions. The degree of color transfer is then evaluated using a gray scale.
