of Microbiology (CBM) is one of the most important national scientific eve
nts and is held every two years. With its broad scope\, it addresses not o
nly the scientific community but also undergraduate and graduate students\
, representatives of civil society and government\, companies in the field
of microbiology\, as well as Brazilian society in general. The 33rd Brazi
lian Congress of Microbiology will be held from October 25th to 28th\, 202
5\, in the city of Aracajú\, Sergipe. Its central theme is: “Microbiolo
gy in the Context of Climate Change and Artificial Intelligence.” These
are two aspects of great importance today. Due to its biological diversity
\, Brazil is a central country in addressing climate change and mitigating
its causes and impacts. Alongside this\, the use of AI to evaluate microb
iological issues\, assisting in the search for solutions\, as well as in b
asic and applied research and in teaching\, will bring great benefits. Thi
s will be another significant moment of growth for Brazilian microbiology.
FoodMicro®\, a renowned international event held biennially by the Inter
national Committee on Food Microbiology and Hygiene (ICFMH\, https://icfmh
.org/en)\, traditionally takes place in a European country. However\, for
the first time\, this prestigious conference is expanding beyond Europe. F
rom October 25 to 28\, 2025\, FoodMicro® Latino 2025 will be hosted in Ar
 acaju\, Sergipe\, Brazil\, as a parallel event to the 33rd Brazilian Congr
ess of Microbiology\, organized by the Brazilian Society of Microbiology.
The event will be led by the Brazilian Association for Food Protection (BR
AFP https://brafp.org.br) under the central theme: Sustainability and Food
Safety. The conference aims to foster discussions on sustainable strategi
es for producing safe food\, addressing critical issues that contribute to
  global food security.
