These lamps are excellent for quick field inspection, fluorescence applications, such as EC Blue analysis.
The UV lamp for EC blue emits UV-A rays at 365nm, which can be used during analysis of bacterial growth for the EC Blue culture media.
Furthermore, it is useful to check surfaces for organic residues. When UV rays come in contact with phosphors, it causes phosphor to emit a radiation, which is visible by the eye, called phosphorescence. After removing the UV source the flourescence slowly disappears.
The UV lamp is made of impact-resistant plastic which resists fading or cracking. Due to its very compact size, it can fit into most pockets and also comes with a nylon strap for easy carrying.
Caution: Do not hold this device directly in front of your eyes, or wear appropriate eye protection.
